Anonymous analytics

We count anonymous page views with Umami: which pages are read, not who reads them. We also count how often the feedback form is opened and sent, which tickers we do not cover get visited or requested, and the text of searches that find nothing, still without identifying anyone. Analytics uses no cookies and keeps no IP addresses.

Feedback

When you send feedback we store your message, the page you sent it from and, if you give one, your email address, which we use only to reply. Resend, a mail provider, delivers the message to us. We keep feedback until you ask us to delete it; write to datataide@gmail.com.

Browsing without an account

Without an account, we store no personal data about you outside your browser. Your theme, filter and sorting choices stay in your browser’s localStorage.

Accounts

With an account, Google (Firebase) stores your Google account’s email, name and id, and your list of followed tickers. Your browser stores your sign-in session and a copy of your followed list so pages load quickly. Signing out removes this copy. We use this data only to provide the account and following features. We do not sell it or share it with others; Google stores it for us to provide these features.

You can delete your account in Settings. This removes your Smart Goblin account and all its stored account data, including followed tickers, and signs you out in this browser. It does not delete your Google account.

Email digest

The email digest is off unless you turn it on in Settings. With it on, we use your account’s email address to send you a digest about new filings, either from the tickers you follow or from every company Smart Goblin covers, in the form types you chose, and about every IPO prospectus if you chose that. We store your choice (on or off, followed or all companies, every IPO or not, the form types and when you turned it on) with your account. Resend, a mail provider, processes your address and the digest in order to deliver it for us.

To stop it, turn the digest off in Settings. Deleting your account also removes the choice and ends the digest.
